Its the first grade 5 at the start of the run. The three nasties are 3 smaller drops towards the end of the run.

Cheers Nige. They say the best ideas are normally stolen! I like the bit where it says you will not keep everyone happy!

Thanks for putting your name forward. The stumbling block Chucky is the fact that only a grade 2 trip will be suitable for the paddlers at the club. I would assume you will want to push for a higher grade. Now that creates problems. How to keep everyone happy.

I wouldnt follow Ricki if he said there was water in the wombourne canal let
alone the Dulas! Sounds like a lovely drive around. I think its one the AA recommend. Weve all made mistakes with river levels. Not to worry.

The dart was only grade 3 level Saturday, nice air temperature and perfect for a club run. Lee Valley Assessment would be perfect followed by training sessions down there on a regular basis.

Like I say I’m not going out with any paddler on that sort of water who I’ve got doubts about rolling.

I think its great that you had a look at the Twrch. The gorge section is great fun and cant wait to get on it again. Barry tells me he has removed the bush on the first bend on the Gam. Think about the clean up jobs Barry and the club have now done on the Vyrnwy, Gam and Twrch. We are unsung heroes doing our bit for ourselves and the rest of the paddle community. Imagine if we lived closer to the rivers Im sure Baz would be seen walking along river banks with chainsaws in both hands! There is a car stuck in the wnion gorge. Have you received a call yet mate?

Sounds like a nice day nige. The wind blowing in your face, shane in your ears, barbed wire limbo! The trip sounds a little short to me! Did you consider paddling to the next town? Wait until im back, im going to knock you all back into Shape! If the barbed wire was a continuation of a fence, its probably a stock fence, stopping the cows walking down river. Maybe we should take some snips with us on future trips along with a saw for branches. We need to careful out there. Scout, Scout, Scout!

I’ve witnessed Gary give somebody “what for ” at the leisure centre. I’m glad the pool night is after the watershed of 9 o clock!

Well done both trips! Please keep safety as the priority. Groups of three, four and five are great. Keep an eye open for trees down and inspect around blind bends!
