The review doesn’t need names in my opinion. It’s about learning from past experience. For example I took a swim on the breaker previously. Based upon that experience I need support there until I have demonstrated competence making a successful line and feel confident without it. We could look at the Vyrnwy gorge as another example. Based upon the number of swims on that section in the past we should have bank support set up each time it is run.

Nice one Steve. It was only two weeks ago but it is so difficult to remember! We had the time to inspect. Keep running it and building up the know how. Great few days!

Another quick thought. Paddlers at the club are capable of the upper section from Brendon to Watersmeet and I would be comfortable leading a group at that level. I would recommend walking the gorge unless with a good team or guide.

A quick note. The level was 1.62. This is the highest level Bonney would recommend me running the river. 1.62 is perfect for the gorge. Scary if higher, slower but more technical if lower. There is a video on YouTube which is good. BCC on the east Lyn nov 2011. I would highly recommend ABC Kayak.

Well done guys. Everyone came through unscathed. Its become a regular paddle and one I think we are becoming more knowledgeable and comfortable with. Good report Rich.

Hi Steve, the 16th/17th weekend has been pencilled in. This date had the most paddlers available and coincides with the tees whitewater centre and washburn both releasing. This gives us the option of paddling if the rivers do not come up.
I did put a post up on facebook, but things can be easily missed on there. I hope to paddle on the other weekends if rivers come up. I love paddling in the autumn.

It is an important health and safety point Mick. The leisure centre is good to us. Lets keep them happy!

Nice one Geoff. Im trying to sort out dates for this year but because of my shift change at work I am having to fit my holiday in where the gaps are. Not easy!
