Hi Rich,
Yes that’s fine see you in the morning.
NigelParticipantHi Rich,
I have forgot what my Wombourne Buddies look like !
I am Father duty this weekend but if weather stays ok may pop up with Tyler and take some photo’s, are you aiming to be there around 10-30 am ?Cheers
Nige
NigelParticipantHi Chucky,
Cheers for the info.
NigelParticipantTake it that’s a NO then !
NigelParticipantHi Rich,
Not out as Tyler on half term ! Odd I know but he has 2 weeks now but only 4 weeks in the summer. How about a New steady challenge the “River Derwent”
at Matlock, it is a pleasant bit of water albeit not very challenging ?
Cheers πNigelParticipantSorry Guy’s away in Edingburgh, the Gaffers Birthday treat. I know I spoil Her.
NigelParticipantHi Sonny,
He is more than welcome to attend the pool session tomorrow. Usual initiation with a swim and move on to capsize exit.
Hope this helps.NigelParticipantHi Mick,
Sorry I didn’t make the pool last night. I will be there next Thu to settle my debt.
CheersNigelParticipantHi Gent’s,
I have been really looking forward to getting out as not managed to do so for a few weeks and now feel pretty crap, think I have the leargy, no it isn’t a Welsh river !!
Sorry won’t be joining you tomorrow, have a great trip and stay safe. πNigelParticipantHi Guy’s,
I see valid points from both sides. When I am out on my travels if I know of a river near by or spot one, I often stop off a couple of places to view and even make a few notes. The good thing with the likes of Google Maps is it enables us to see lay-bys bridges, put in’s and take out possibilities, parking etc etc. Along with getting a general picture of the surroundings in our mind which I feel can be useful.
Being part of a group of paddlers who look out for each other and work as a team is also very vital. Deciding who may lead an unknown section of water and who to position where within a group this along with deciding what to paddle depending on the experience and capabilities of the group and ensuring portages are available if members wish to walk round a particular feature.
Going and finding out is a real buzz, the excitement of the unknown which is fine if this is a viable option.NigelParticipantOrganised safety sessions including throw line practice, getting in and out of boats in deeper water using a buddy system with other members. Some of this could be done at the pool and other sessions at the likes of Jackfields and Mile End Mill, once weather starts to improve and get warmer. (Maybe once every 5 or 6 weeks could be an idea) π

It is a pleasure to view your annual detailed diary. We certainly are a very active club who accommodate members at all levels. Let’s hope 2015 can be as active and successful. Thank you for keeping such detailed records.NigelParticipantPhew Mr Y, thought you had incurred a real bad stutter !
NigelParticipantAs a motorcyclists for many many years this river is the nearest you can get to a real Sunday morning high speed blast around wales. WOW WOW!!!
Great day again thanks to all, I really feel the sentiments of Tim’s comment about the team work, every one played a valuable part in the trip today which is what being part of the club in my opinion is all about.
Cheers π π π π and still smilingNigelParticipantI take it that’s a NO then ??
