NigelParticipant
Nice one Chaps,
Well done for braving the weather too.
NigelParticipantIt sounds like a fun day with very diverse surroundings and sites to see ! Nice report Tim made me chuckle.
Rich, there are a few in the Peak District, The Goyt being one and is supposed to be interesting on the right level but due to the terrain a lot of the water runs away quickly or if very wet they become risky. The river Noe in the Edale valley is another one which sounds a reasonable little paddle with some interesting features.
Cheers
Gents.NigelParticipantGreat evening Rupert,
You handled the situations well and that roll at the end was excellent, very composed and well executed 😉
NigelParticipantSuper, funny, entertaining and enjoyable report Tim 😉
Well done to all who paddled. The footage is excellent and it really sounds like you had a fabulous day on what can only be seen and described as a great piece of water.NigelParticipantSome nice rivers mentioned, I have to get a few things sorted out over the next few weeks, then need to get back to it, firstly some basic skills practice and confidence building due to lack of water visits, then fancy,
1/ Lower section of the Aberglaslyn Gorge again at some point
2/ The Seiont
3/ Any lakes in the Lake District the more remote the better😉
NigelParticipantGreat footage and nice report,
A big well done to Steve and Dave in particular, John just keeps thrashing it out as always and Rich, Kee and Tim, great leadership and organisation. I have watched all three lots of footage and great to get different perspectives of a trip.NigelParticipantNice reflection Rich, lovely piece of water, lots to keep you on your guard and focused. Beautiful setting and lovely gorges. Thanks to Rich and Paul for the guiding and support, well done Dave P, thanks for transport and Mr Bennet, what a star on Bryn Bras styled it big time with his own personal line.
NigelParticipantSome very interesting and valid points here Gents, I have tried adopting Geoff”s philosophy the last couple of pool visits, by slowing everything down and trying to be composed, this definitely seems to make the roll more successful in the first attempt, those few seconds ensuring you lean further forward, let the blade break the surface of the water and ensure a steady wide sweep definately has a more positive effortless result. I will be focusing on contact points next week, knees feet( applying pressure) and forward tuck position. Really useful comments.
NigelParticipantNice report Rich,
Glad to be back out, took around 20 minutes to get the sea legs back but then ok. Great level as made the features more interesting than the youtube footage I had looked at friday evening when the river level was around 0,80.
Well done to Dave P, challenged himself and did very well throughout the trip.NigelParticipantA good positive introduction to 2016 Tim. The club has my word that I will participate considerably more in 2016 than in 2015, I still have a couple of issues to resolve the shoulder isn’t right and I have to resolve the biggest hurdle, transport, I won’t let these get in the way to much.I am looking forward to the 16th and seeing lots of new faces on the water.
NigelParticipantThanks Dave,
Tim kind words. This is what I love about this Club great support and genuine people who have become really good friends.
CheersNigelParticipantNice report, only wish circumstances had been different this end. Well done to all. May I apologise to Dave P, as I believe it was discussed with him at the pool on Thursday that we would perhaps meet and travel together. Due to my ongoing Car issues this was not to be, I could just about get us both in the Nissan Micra, but no means of transporting boats which on these trips is a reasonably important piece of kit to have. Bring on 2016. 😉
NigelParticipantHi Tim,
A very detailed itinerary !
I was hoping to be out tomorrow but due to ongoing transport issues I cannot make it for which I am gutted. I may add I was up for both the Tawe and the Usk as if travelling that far it would have been silly not to make the most of both these opportunity.
May I wish you all a safe and enjoyable day, look out for each other as I know we all do and I look forward to the report and excellent footage I know will follow !
I really hope 2016 is a more fruitful season for me on a personal note as 2015 has been a write off with injury and personal issues to deal with.
Enjoy 😉- This reply was modified 8 years, 11 months ago by Nigel.
NigelParticipantGreat report Rich, of a river which is very under rated. Glad you managed to catch it rising at a sensible rate.
The lady and the car park situation, is that the same car park we have used in the past, up the lane right off the A5 at The Goat follow for around a mile then left before crossing the stone bridge and small car park on the right opposite a small cottage ?
In the words of Arnold, when I get a few things sorted I’ll BE BACK!!!NigelParticipantSimply WOW !!!! 😉 😉 😉 😉
