We all know Zaff wants to paddle the Ceiriog, but what river would you like to go on? Post it up on here and we can plan to get it ticked off. Come on don’t be shy.
Re.read the post. Got it you want suggestions of what to paddle in the next few months etc.
Well. In that case. I will start it off. With
The Usk (cose I can spell that.)
Hi Tim. Still fancy trying the Twrch and Gam. Both Tributaries of the Banwy they are only 2 miles apart and so both could be done in a day ! Water needs to be medium to spate so I guess the gauge on the Banwy at Llanerfyl would need to be over 1.7 metres. The Gam is 9Km grade 2/3 with one Grade 3+ in higher water and the Twrch 5Km with a gorge containing 4 distinct grade 3 rapids
Evenin Gent’s,
I have had the Upper Conwy A5 Bridge mentioned, after looking up some detail ,around 5km grade 3 with some interesting 4 sections to tackle. Have you Guy’s covered this venue ?
Just to through in.another option how about the seiont grade 3 all the way apart from an easy 4 at the start. This river is continuose and fun and you start in view of mountains and end near the sea by Conway castle. A truly varied trip ,also I would run it again as I’m sure Tim would .
Hi Mark, the Seiont is a river I wouldn’t mind running with you or Tim leading as you’ve run it before. What gauge do we need to use to find out if the level is ok and what level would you recommend. We’re looking for somewhere to run on Saturday if HPP is closed are you available ?
If you look on the enviroment agency web sight, look under caermarfon found near angelsy it should be around 1m on the ea gauge. Not sure if I’m available this weekend will let you know. Just to correct my self you end at Caemarfon castle and not Conwy.
