scotland blog day 1 to 5

Drive Up Day

We stopped at Tebay services for lovely food and coffee and onwards to Perth airport to complete the first leg of our journey. We did a quick recee of the next days paddle and enjoyed beer and darts in the kinnears arms and the wheel inn. Scone fish and chip shop filled us up. Kee and Dave had battered mars bars!

Day 1

Today we paddled 2 classic sections of the Tay. Stanley and Grandtully providing the group with great grade 2/3 paddling. The level was just on the line between low and medium. The highlight for me was the rapid through campsie linn with wirlpools and confused water spicing up a nice section of water. Food at Wetherspoons in Fort Bill and drinking continued at the Grog and Gruel.

Day 4
Team Wombourne paddled the river gary today. Curry night at wetherspoons provided the apres paddle fun. The accident report forms were completed during the evening.

Day 5
The rock slides on the allt a chaoruinn provided the fun today and thanks to geoff for filming proceeding. A quick coffee in the kingshouse hotel and homeward bound.

Homeward Bound, I had to listen to Rich singing out of tune, but I managed to survive.

I was only singing so I didn’t have to listen to John moaning about the other drivers switching lanes !!
