    Hi all,
sorry for the late arrival of this short report, I have been to Tylers, end of season football presentation.
A rather small group paddled today, Rich D, Son Oliver, John and myself, we set off for the Dee at Llangollen, the level was a massive 2 on the Mile end mill gauge, we headed for the top and put in above “Horseshoe falls” to warm up, then dropped down the left of the weir into the river heading towards “Chain
bridge” the level was extremely low and the river very very busy. I dropped into the top of “Chain Bridge” and got stuck on a large rock due to the low level, thank goodness for my high brace practice of late as it saved me from a very precarious and embarrassing swim as we had a group of around 20 kayakers sitting in the big eddy river right at the bottom of the short run, watching our every move.! We arrived at Serpents Tail and decided no need to view let’s run it so we did and all with great success. Rich, Oliver and John, had a second run of it and hat’s of to Rich, he ran around half the top section backwards performing a superb bit of bracing to aid him getting his boat to face back in the right
    direction.
A special BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY to John, who despite being invited out for the day for his 61st Birthday, chose to paddle with the boy’s, John thank you, always a pleasure and never a chore.
Rob, did pop up but didn’t paddle, he had spent the night in Witshire, dealing with Nomad’s and possible visits from another universe at Stone henge , so was extremely tired and glad to be back on Earth. He was having trouble phoning home though ( E T) just a signal problem in the car park at Mile End to be honest.
    Cheers all 🙂

Had a really pleasant day yesterday just doing our own thing and it’s great to see Nigel and John running Serpent’s Tail with so much more confidence now they have a feel for it. I didn’t quite nail the eddy yesterday and dropped out backwards, always interesting to try a different line, even if it was unplanned !!
Thanks again for the coffee Nigel and I agree it was a privilege that John chose to be with us on his birthday.
Great news about the future of Mile End Mill ( we’ll explain at the pool session on Thursday )
Hope Tim and Mark had a good evening too (We passed them on the A5 on our way home )
Hope the eyes are better now Rich, will we see you at the pool on Thursday ?
How did the MRI scan go Barry ? Can’t believe you have to wait so long for a scan and then they make an appointment for a Saturday afternoon !!
