Saturdays paddle

A few of us had a nice paddle down the Lower Dee yesterday and bumped into Ian Dallaway who was about to do the same run with a fairly large group doing 3 star training/tests. We put on before them and didn’t see them again ! The Salmon fishing season on the Dee finished on October 17th so we weren’t expecting to see any fishermen. Unfortunately there were more than ever as there was a fly fishing casting workshop going on ! But as Geoff said they weren’t real Salmon fishermen as they were cheerful, some even spoke , smiled and waved ! Got to say well done to Nigel as he was twice tripped up by boulders and rolled straight back up on both occasions, superb. Then even better for the rest of us when we got off the river Nigel pulled out his camping stove and made us all a hot drink, much appreciated on a bright but bitterly cold day. Hope Nigel can make next Saturdays paddle !!

Pogies had there first outing , although I think Geoff and Keelan will be adding them to there Christmas list as I didn’t get much chance to use them !!

Hi All,
A big thank you from me to Barry, Rich ,Geoff, John and Keelan, great company and I had a fantastic time on the river, the two rolls felt great, thanks to All at the club who have shown great patience and understanding and without who’s help and loads of moral support since joining have made it possible for me to really enjoy this Great sport.
The hot drinks was the least I could do.
