Hi All,
This will be short and sweet just really to log our trip.
A small group met at the usual spot Dobbies. Geoff brought Kee along but was unable to transport his own boat due to lack of accessories on his new wheels. Dave, Andy Rob and myself also made up the famous 5.
We headed for the Tryweryn, Dave Y is now on first name terms with all the rafting guides as he goes here twice a week ! We were on the river for 10-40 am playing on the section above the Chipper, a couple of runs down and Dave Andy and Kee headed for the upper while Geoff went to photo shoot Rob and I went down to the Cafe wave. We regrouped after watching the 3 Guy’s tackle sections of the upper. At one stage between the bottom of Ski Slope and the Exit of Mrs Davis bridge there were 6 rafts which caused some concern as Dave was gently squashed up against a large boulder river right, then Andy who had waited for what seemed like an age to run the bridge feature arrived at the drop only to find as he arrived at the top one of the raft guides decided to move his team of rafters into the flow to play in the wave, the look on Andy’s face was magical a large cloud appeared which read F@)(^%!&*()%^&&*** BA!)($^!$$&&^%rds, he handled the situation with great skill and completely changed his line as he dropped in the flow and styled it. Then we all got on the lower section I was paddling the Burn for the first time which after an hour above the chipper felt very different. The lower we ran fairly quickly as Geoff and Kee, had departed so just left a small group of 4, the level seemed slightly higher than normal ion places but still kept us on our toes at times. All through Bala Mill, with success and for me a little personal goal running it in the burn.
Off the water and popped into Bala town were some of the small group enjoyed a visit to a local Chip shop and others admired the scenery.A lovely way to spend a Saturday with friends and in a lovely part of the world, how lucky we are. 😉

I must admit the way I felt last week I thought my paddling days were over. A couple of visits to the osteopath seem to have sorted it so I’m hoping you’ll be paddling again the Saturday.
