New Years honours list

1. Well done to Rob and Nige becoming level one coaches. I award you The Order of the Wombourne Kayak Empire (OWKE)
2. Well done to Rob and Kee for doing their Foundation Rescue Course. Arise the knights of the throw line.
3. Well done to Dave Y, Rich D, Nige, Rob, John, Tim and Oliver for taking their 4 Star Leadership Course. Well done to Dave B for becoming a 4 Star Canoe Leader. We award you the freedom of the Wombourne playing fields.
4. Thank you to Geoff for some amazing videos. The Anglesey video with the helicopters etc is one that really stands out. We award you the The Fellowship of the Wombourne Photographic Tim Keeps Telling Off Award or FWPTKOA for short.
5. I would like to award Mick and Debs the Why doesn’t anyone ever bring the correct change award? Thanks for sorting out the monies again. Really appreciated.
6. I would like to say thanks to everyone who has helped on the Committee this year……Paul, Ricki, Barry, Gary, Mick and Rich. Well attended meetings. Superb.
Medals all round.
7. Finally, thanks to everyone who has organised trips, coached, sorted out boats, shuttles, lifts and listened to me rant on about different issues.

Must agree with Tim. it’s been another great year for the club thanks to Tim’s guidance and the enthusiasm shown by the committee and members alike. Well done everyone who’s been involved.

Tim seems to have left out his own New Years Honour;

Mr Conscience; the person responsible for monitoring and maintaining the “Ethics” of this great club in order to guide us with his advice and experience, thanks a lot Tim.

I think we should also award a medal to Tim as the inventor of the one car shuttle! Don’t expect it to be too popular with the older members though. The thought of running 2 or more miles before a paddle…..MAD

With all this talk of medals, we should have a committee meeting to decide if we can afford them ha ha.
