The grade 2/3 section of this river that runs into the Usk is excellent. We decided to run it from lower cwm bridge to llangenny parking at the rear of the dragon inn. This avoided the nasty looking weir further down. All of the rivers in the area were rising quickly and after an inspection walk of this one I had to inform Rob that it wasn’t safe for him to paddle today. For future reference the river level probably needs to be at about 0.4 or less. We also checked out the upper Grwyne Fawr which had a padlocked gate preventing access. We didn’t fancy dragging our boats up a mile in the snow! We also had a look at the upper tawe moors but again the snow up there was holding a lot of the rainfall.

Thanks to Mark for suggesting and showing me this river and I hope Rob enjoyed his walks up and down the bank!
