Friends, we had really good relaxed meeting in the pub last week. We looked through the minutes of the last meeting and we agreed upon a course of action to keep us moving in the right direction. Here are some of the main points.
1. Mick gave us a quick run down of the accounts. We are £2000 in credit. Woopy doo! Barry pointed out that I would like a large Z one. I couldn’t argue with him and so I had another swig of shandy.
2. We discussed the new CRB process which I quite honestly struggle to get my head around. Paul and Nick are looking into this. (not my head I hasten to say)
3. We discussed the club logo and purchasing club tshirts, polo tops, hoodies.
Paul and Gary are looking into this. we still haven’t got a logo. Keep designing folks.4. We chatted about the pool session and the new routine at the end of the session. Once we are in the changing room the poolside door is locked and the lifeguards want to get the cover over the pool asap. We are looked after at this pool so lets play ball. (A phrase Ive recently picked up from Dave Yates) Im suggesting we get our boats outside at the end of the session before we get changed. Its no big deal.
5. I talked about organising a paddle across Ullswater Lake in May. It can be windy across there so lets go in the same direction as the wind.
6. We discussed going out paddling on Sundays. I made the point that Rich D and Barry have been the driving force behind the club in the last few years and if they go Saturdays that’s that I guess. For me I will paddle any day of the week so long as Im free and its been raining. Saturday or Sunday its all the same to me. Just go with the flow. You win some you lose some.
I think Ive mentioned the main points. Feel free to comment.
Cheers
Tim

Only other things mentioned at the committee meeting was the purchase of smaller items, such as spray decks, air bags etc, to be locked in the “dog cage” hopefully generously donated by Paul Williams.
Purchase of air bags for the club’s Dagger Mamba and Riot Magnum (for when Shane decides to go for a swim ! ). Really hard work rescuing boats full of water without air bags. Oh and a drain bung too for the Magnum.October 23, 2013 at 8:59 pm #2027TimMemberWell remembered Rich! We will get the equipment sorted. I will work with Barry on this.
October 24, 2013 at 8:31 am #2028ChuckyParticipantso what is the plan of actin with the club logo ?
shall we allocate a closing date for club suggestions ?
Are we then going to get a pro to draw it up properly in such a fashion that it can then be used on t shirts and or hoodies?
is someone going to champion this ?October 24, 2013 at 11:34 am #2031TimMemberOh Chucky, your so masterful. So many questions. Im still working on another design mate. Got the idea in my head just need to put pen to paper. We can use your contact to draw up the final design. We will collect the designs, choose two or three we like and give your friend something to work with. Lets give it a few more weeks.
October 24, 2013 at 1:35 pm #2035ChuckyParticipantok that cool. i just thought it might be good to put an edn date on the designs then we can discuss them at the pool session over a couple of weeks to get as many opinions as possible then put them forward to get them done properly.
