Had a really good day at Cardiff today…….
Was a little bit worried as we drove there as this would be my first time on the water alone….(no disrespect to Kee, but you know what I mean…!) ,but once I was on the water it was a doddle.
Picked my lines right and got my boat where I wanted it when I wanted.
Think I should rename my boat as a Ballistic, as on my last run on 6c I took out 3 playboaters on 3 seperate waves.
The 1st was just a brush on the play wave leaving him to battle the eddie line. (which he lost…!) and the 3rd a bump which left us both fighting the toeback….(extra volume paid divedens there he he…)
However it was the 2nd which gave me most pleasure. I can still remember the look of a startled bunny as he paddled straight out in front of me……the crunch as my bow ploughed into his ribs…..and the site of his upturned empty boat at the bottom of the course.
Anyway saw him later and he was O.K. and maybe a little bit wiser about paddling out of an eddie blind…..
I called it a day after that as it was just too cold…..but Kee ran the 8 a few times and managed his 1st loop.

Thanks for all the help we’ve recieved over the last few months that gave us the confidence to do this trip alone…….
Hope to see you soon.
