Good afternoon All,
Sorry for the delay in the post had to go to work last night and do a shift after paddling, a little jaded.
Yesterday a small group of 8 in total. Rob, Paul W, Loz, Dave Y, Kee, Andy from s’bridge, Shane and myself, set off from Dobbies , for the Dee at Llangollen, we had 3 young men who had never take on the challenge of Serpents so we decided to run the section down from “Horse shoe” weir to “Mile End Mill”.
The level was on a 3 at the Mill and the water fairly busy, the air had a distinct autumnal chill about it, so the guy’s still wearing shorts felt the brunt of it, can’t think who they were .lol 😉
A steady meander down after dropping in from the weir left, taking time to play on route every one ran Chain bridge no problem more playing and a small swim from one member but nothing broken. Down to Serpents, here a couple of the Guy’s were unsure after portaging to take a peep, but I must say well done to the Virgins, Loz, PaulW and Shane, (show me the rapid) Bannister, who all paddled serpents with great success.
Arrived at Mile End, played for an hour on the lower features, Dave, broke a adjusting strap leaning back with all his mass on his seat and has decided to go on a diet, Andy executed a couple of excellent rolls, 1 of which was while running serpants.
The weather ended up being fabulous once again the company was excellent as usual and no loss or breakages of folks or kit.
Lovely way to spend a Saturday, thanks all and a Big well done to Paul W, Loz, and show me the rapid Bannister.
