The Club paddles into 2016 in a great shape. We are financially secure, we have a nice selection of boats, we continue to organise days out and we have small but fantastic membership.
We have many things to look forward to this year and hopefully we can encourage more people to become involved with the club and it will continue heading in the right direction. There are many ways to make a difference and its the little things that count and can make a lasting impression. This could be something as simple as helping a new paddler move their footrest or helping to return boats to the plant room on a Thursday night.
As always the priority at the start of the year is organising the AGM and encouraging members to renew their membership as soon as possible. However the biggest priority is to get out paddling as much as possible and I know Rich would love to see as many paddlers out as possible on the 16th of January. The plan is for a paddle to suit everyone and then a bite to eat afterwards. It will great to see you there.
We are still going to organise a ” have your say event” in the near future and I’ve made a mental note of requests for a first aid course, membership cards and another possible Scotland trip. It would be lovely to have a few more level 1 coaches and it would great to see one or two become level 2 coaches. We will continue to encourage everyone to participate in safety and rescue courses.
Hopefully we will meet your needs and help you achieve your goals this year.
