For the second week running Geoff , Kee and myself made the trip to HPP Nottingham, but this time we were joined by 2 old hands in Gary and Paul who hadn’t been for more than a year and 2 newcomers to the course in Kevin and Asa. The gauge on the river Trent at Colwick was on 1.01 (2 cm down on the previous week ). This is an excellent course that is more river like than the other man made courses and for that reason appears to get the vote of top course for those that have tried Cardiff, Nene and Lee Valley ( Legacy course ).
Saturday turned out to be a superb day for everyone with Kev and Asa performing brilliantly. Geoff’s rolling clinic on the Thursday pool sessions has certainly paid dividends. Gary made 3 excellent rolls in the meatiest section of the course. Kev put in a few good rolls and Asa appeared to be rolling for fun and must have been into double figures ! I flipped whilst surfing a wave only to come up to hear Geoff giving me a bo**ock*ng “you’re still bringing your head up too early” so back in the pool on Thursday !! Oh and Geoff reckons he did his best roll ever on moving water, thing is, nobody saw him do it despite the fact there was 7 of us on the water ! ! Have we got to go again next week to get some video footage ? P.S. Does anyone know what’s happened to Rich Probert ? You couldn’t keep him away from HPP at one time.
