Now I thought it was a short paddle. Over too soon if you ask me. I think we were only on the water for 6 and a half hours. Hands up if you like trees. You do? Well this is the paddle for you. I think we had about 10 trees to portage today and countless trees to slalom around. Do you know what though, for me today was a great adventure. I even enjoyed rescuing Nigels pinned paddle! Happy days and happy memories. Thanks guys! By the way Rich D is great at boat chasing!

I agree Tim it was a great day and one where you couldn’t afford to switch off for a moment. Thoroughly enjoyed having to manoeuvre the boat around, through and over so many obstacles, quite challenging at times.
Well done to Rob for leading us down the upper section in what was only his second paddle with the club and for making all the right calls, quite a responsibility with all those trees about.

I echo these comments above, a Great Endurance challenge, thanks to all for the moral support and keeping up the good spirit,. Big thanks to Mr Chairman, who not only rescued my pinned paddle from a large tree in full flow of a tricky drop, he put his own life at risk to wade across the river from a safe dry bank with myself holding the throw line which was attached to his BA, then scale a large rock situated in the centre of the river, then wrestled with a LARGE fallen tree which freed my Werner blades :-), Rich D, Big thanks for chasing rescuing and even emptying my boat during the trip, he also came to the rescue after winding his way through a heavily wooded area which was very muddy and slippery under foot.
Great day thanks to all in attendance.
    Cheers 🙂
