Saturday 10 of us set off for the Ceiriog. Although the level was great, while driving to the get in several trees were spotted in the river. After a short debate, it was decided that for every tree we saw, there would be at least one more we didn’t, and with the speed of flow and width of river it was too dangerous to paddle.
We then travelled to the Vyrnwy only to discover that was too low….disappointed, but not down hearted, we continued on to the Banwry.
A quick inspection at the get out showed that this was also very low, however as time was getting on, and mileage was clocking up, we decided to run it regardless.
On returning home, I discovered Kee hadn’t pressed record on the camera, so no film available.
Luckily, Bob filmed the best bits and had asked me to post his footage…..so…
Bob’s your uncle…!
Nice one Geoff your videos get better ! Shame about the camera man forgetting to turn on his camera though !
A big welcome to Bob on joining for the first time out and for remembering to turn on his camera !
Good to see Simon Bincks back on the water after what appears to be a long break (must be because its getting warmer at last )
A pleasant paddle even though it wasn’t what we had planned although that bottom rapid did look a bit like Clapham junction with us all trying to have a go.
So where to go next week ?
Well done to Nigel, Scott, Will and Paul on completing the FSRT hope you all had fun

Usual good quality producing by Mr G Lewis, nice one.
Rich we had a really good time, BUT the River Trent, not the nicest river to spend 2 hours swimming in really and 5 feet deep at the side ! Great course good crowd to be with and lovely facilities at Burton Canoe Club, another success thanks to the Chairmans organisation etc, Thanks Tim.
